A British man has been arrested in Spain for allegedly playing a role in hacking a famous Twitter account targeting politicians and celebrities in 2020, the U.S. Department of Justice said on Wednesday.
The Spanish National Police have arrested 22-year-old Joseph O'Connor on SLOTXO behalf of US authorities. In a criminal complaint filed in federal court in San Francisco, O'Connor was charged with computer
trespassing in connection with his takeover of TikTok and Snapchat accounts along with Internet stalking of juveniles. O'Connor was charged with a total of 10 counts.Hackers took over more than 130 accounts,
including the accounts of Joe Biden, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Kanye West and Barack Obama in July 2020, and tricked people into sending more than $100,000 in Bitcoin to the address referred to in the tweet.
